An electrifying color variation on the standard Pothos. ‘Neon’ has all of the tough, reliable features houseplant lovers have come to expect from Pothos, but with glowing, neon-green foliage. Place where the vines can fall freely or trail along a shelf for the best effect. Looks great grown in containers and hanging baskets. A terrific plant for tall plant stands where the trailing foliage will create a cascade of foliage over time.

  • Botanical Name: Epipremnum pinnatum
  • Common Name(s): Neon Pothos

Here are some care tips to help you keep your Pothos Neon healthy and thriving:

  1. Light: Provide bright, indirect light for your Pothos Neon. While it can tolerate lower light conditions, brighter light will help maintain its vivid coloration. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.
  2. Watering: Allow the top inch or so of soil to dry out between waterings. Pothos plants are fairly drought-tolerant and prefer slightly dry conditions over consistently wet soil. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it’s essential to avoid soggy soil.
  3. Soil: Plant your Pothos Neon in well-draining potting mix. A blend of peat moss, perlite, and/or coarse sand works well. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent water from pooling at the roots.
  4. Temperature: Pothos Neon thrives in typical indoor temperatures ranging from 65°F to 85°F (18°C to 29°C). Avoid exposing the plant to cold drafts or temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
  5. Humidity: Normal household humidity levels are usually sufficient for Pothos Neon. However, it appreciates slightly higher humidity. You can increase humidity by misting the leaves occasionally or placing a humidifier nearby, especially during dry winter months.
  6. Fertilization: Feed your Pothos Neon with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid fertilizing in winter or if the plant is not actively growing.
  7. Pruning: Regularly prune your Pothos Neon to encourage bushy growth and maintain its shape. Trim leggy stems and remove any yellow or dead leaves. You can also propagate the cuttings to create new plants.
  8. Propagation: Pothos Neon is easily propagated from stem cuttings. Simply cut a healthy stem below a node (where a leaf attaches to the stem) and place it in water or moist potting soil until roots develop.
  9. Pests: Keep an eye out for common houseplant pests like aphids, spider mites, and mealybugs. If pests are present, gently wipe the leaves with a damp cloth or treat the plant with insecticidal soap.
  10. Potting and Repotting: Repot your Pothos Neon when it outgrows its current pot or becomes root-bound. Choose a slightly larger pot with drainage holes and fresh potting mix.

By following these care tips, you can enjoy the vibrant beauty of your Pothos Neon as it grows and thrives in your home.
