This Air purifying plant is arguably one of the easiest plants to grow indoors. The pothos grows in a vine like fashion making it a great plant to have in a hanging display to fill up any empty space on a shelf or desktop.

  • Botanical Name: Epipremnum Aureum
  • Common Names: Devil’s Ivy

Here are some care tips to help you keep your Pothos Green Queen healthy and thriving:

  1. Light: Provide bright, indirect light for your Pothos Green Queen to maintain its vibrant foliage. While it can tolerate lower light conditions, brighter light will encourage more vigorous growth and richer green coloration. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.
  2. Watering: Allow the top inch or so of soil to dry out between waterings. Pothos Green Queen prefers slightly moist soil but is tolerant of occasional drying out. Water thoroughly when the soil feels dry to the touch, but avoid overwatering, as it can lead to root rot.
  3. Soil: Plant your Pothos Green Queen in well-draining potting mix. A mix containing peat moss, perlite, and/or coarse sand works well. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent water from pooling at the roots.
  4. Temperature: Pothos Green Queen thrives in typical indoor temperatures ranging from 65°F to 85°F (18°C to 29°C). Avoid exposing it to cold drafts or temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
  5. Humidity: While Pothos Green Queen can tolerate average indoor humidity levels, it appreciates slightly higher humidity. You can increase humidity by misting the leaves occasionally or placing a humidifier nearby, especially during dry winter months.
  6. Fertilization: Feed your Pothos Green Queen with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid fertilizing in winter or if the plant is not actively growing.
  7. Pruning: Regularly prune your Pothos Green Queen to promote bushy growth and maintain its shape. Trim leggy stems and remove any yellow or dead leaves. You can propagate the cuttings to create new plants.
  8. Propagation: Pothos Green Queen is easily propagated from stem cuttings. Simply cut a healthy stem below a node (where a leaf attaches to the stem) and place it in water or moist potting soil until roots develop.
  9. Pests: Keep an eye out for common houseplant pests like aphids, spider mites, and mealybugs. If pests are present, gently wipe the leaves with a damp cloth or treat the plant with insecticidal soap.
  10. Potting and Repotting: Repot your Pothos Green Queen when it outgrows its current pot or becomes root-bound. Choose a slightly larger pot with drainage holes and fresh potting mix.

With proper care, your Pothos Green Queen will thrive and add a touch of lush greenery to your indoor space!
